The best red dresses ever!

Every woman needs a red dress in her closet. Honestly, maybe two. Red is bold, daring and super sexy. Putting on a red dress is empowering. It screams out, “Hey there, world! Look at me. I’m on fire today!” Whenever I’m having a blah day, I put on a red dress and it instantly picks me up. So without further ado, here are four red dresses that I absolutely love. Honestly, I could have done a 400-red-dress round up, but I think these capture just about every occasion you’d need a red dress for.

Working girl

Professional red dress

Wearing red isn’t totally about sexiness. It’s also about power. And every working woman needs to feel empowered when she walks into the office. Putting on a red dress like this shirtdress from the Gap would totally do that. A pair of boots and tights make this the perfect office ensemble. And then you can easily sex it up by adding some heels and a belt and unbuttoning one more button if you have something snazzed-up to do after work.

Red tie

Formal red dress

Why wear a black gown to a black tie event when you can wear something red and stand out from the crowd. Come on. How often do you really get to dress up? Why not make it count? What I love about this Ralph Lauren dress is that it’s ruched around the waist, which is super flattering, especially when your night involves a lot of stomach-expanding champagne. And in this deep scarlet color, it’s more sophisticated than flashy.

Simplicity

Simple red dress What I love about red is that it can take a totally simple piece of clothing and turn it into a totally wow-worthy look. Take this Kardashian Kollection dress. It’s not much more than a long-sleeved bandage dress. But how eye-catching is it in this deep oxblood color? I can think of about a million ways to wear it.

Jaw to the floor

Sexy red dress Want to get some real attention from your man? Just put on this very reasonably-priced number from Forever 21. The leather top is wham-in-your-face sex appeal, but it’s balanced out by the flowy red skirt. And black and red is always a winning combo. It’s the peanut butter and fluff of color!
