Make Him Feel Loved: 5 Ways to Succeed When Too Busy

Make Him Feel LovedMAKE HIM FEEL LOVED!! I’m the queen of the “I’m too busy” excuse. And I know it’s such a lame thing to say. What “I’m too busy for that” really means is “I’m not prioritizing that.” And sure, sometimes that’s fine. Being too busy to watch all the TV you want or being too busy to make tomato sauce from scratch when there’s perfectly good jarred sauce is fine. But, when you’re too busy to make your boo feel loved? Well, that’s a big problem. You’re basically telling him that everything else in your life is more important than his feelings. And that’s a mighty crappy thing to hear from your romantic partner. With that said, life happens and it’s overwhelming. And you can’t make his favorite meal and wear his favorite lingerie and cater to his every need all the time. Or even most of the time. So, here are some easy tips on how to make him feel loved when your life is really busy.

Leave notes – Make Him Feel Loved

Sweet notes go such a long way. If you have to wake up early to catch a flight or run to a meeting, set the coffee machine to go off when he wakes up and leave him a sweet little note letting him know you want him to have a good day. Or, make it a little sexier and let him know what you’re looking forward to doing together in the bedroom when you get home. A few little words on the back of a receipt can make a man feel very cared for. And, if you don’t have time to write something out, shoot him a text that says the same thing. I don’t think it’s quite as good as a handwritten note, but it’ll definitely be appreciated.

Order fancy take out – Make Him Feel Loved

When I’m busy, the first thing to go is cooking. And that’s kind of a bummer because cooking is such an easy special date. But, when my business is taking up 12 or 14 hours a day, I just can’t make myself cook when I get home. A great solution to creating a special date night at home without slaving over the stove for hours (or even for 15 minutes) is to get take out or delivery from a place that’s meaningful to you two as a couple. Maybe pick up his favorite meal in the city and bring it home. Or have the meal you two had on your first date delivered to the house. It’s really thoughtful and not very time consuming.

Surprise deliveries – Make Him Feel Loved

The surprise delivery of flowers is often thought of as something just women like. But, I think surprise deliveries are always welcomed, no matter the gender of the person getting them. And you can get anything delivered these days. Send him chocolates, his favorite alcohol, lingerie you’ll wear the next time you see him or even just a nice lunch. This gesture will go a long way and it didn’t take more than clicking around on the internet for a few seconds to get it done.

Check in – Make Him Feel Loved

Talk to your man about your schedule. You know him well enough to know when he’s fine and when he’s feeling neglected. Explain to him where you’re coming from and what’s being demanded of you in other arenas of your life. See what would make him feel better about it. What’s important here is not to be defensive or dismissive of his feelings. Let him know that you’re on his team and want him to feel as loved as he actually is.

Set dates – Make Him Feel Loved

Busy periods don’t last forever. Give your man a light at the end of the tunnel. Let him know when your deadline is for this project that’s keeping you at the office until 10pm every night. Or pick a point in the future where you dedicate a full night to your relationship. Set times in the future where you’ll be able to prioritize him more and he’ll be able to wait out these busy periods with a lot more patience.

To all of my busy ladies out there, I salute you! You’ve got to get out there and get yours! Just make sure that you’re giving your love what he deserves, too!
