#AskPatti: Loving your body, taking back a cheater, finding good guys & more

Hi, my digital loves. How are you? I’m great! Spring has actually sprung all around the country! Even my poor icicles on the East Coast are telling me that it’s actually starting to thaw over there. Phew! I thought all of my East Coast girlfriends were going to turn into vampires, it had been so long since they’d seen the sun! Glad that the long winter is finally over everywhere! Alright, this week I got some real winner questions. Let’s dive into them!

This is such a good question. Self-hate about our bodies is unfortunately something women deal with far too frequently. There’s so much in our culture that tells us to hate ourselves and I’m frankly effing sick of it. It took me a while to learn to love my body. Here are a few tips I learned along the way. First, start to exercise. Don’t do this to lose weight or trim down. Do this so you can actually appreciate how strong you are and how amazing your body is. It can run and jump and dance! Let it do its thing and be in awe of everything you’re capable of. Second, stop reading magazines that have phrases like “trouble areas,” “muffin top” or “summer slim down” on the cover. They’ll just make you feel icky about your awesome body. Third, stop the hate talk. When you’re with your friends, it’s easy for a group to gang up on their own bodies and that just starts a spiral of self-loathing. Change the subject when your friends talk about their diets or thighs that rub together. Start talking about your accomplishments instead and see how awesome you feel!
I’m firmly in the camp of once a cheater, always a cheater. So, only take the ex back if you don’t mind being cheated on. And, girl, you (and every woman) deserve a faithful man. So, why would you even entertain this idea?
Sister, they’re all around you! You just need to look in the right places. Hang out where guys hang out. They’re not in your book club or barre class. They’re in dude-centric places like cigar bars, comic book stores and tech conferences. If you’re not meeting the right guys in your daily life, you need to shake it up and go exploring in new places.
I’m so sorry if it looks like that on the show. Trust me, though, my services are completely multi-racial. I just go on what my clients are attracted to in terms of matches and mixers. Believe me, I have plenty of millionaires who are looking for their black and Hispanic matches. I’m assuming your girl is spoken for, but if not, tell her to send a headshot my way!

That’s all for this week, folks. Talk soon!
