Swoon over glitter: Sexy dresses for holiday cocktail hour

Fa la la la. Fa la la la. I am so, so, so into the holiday spirit this year. It’s my first Christmas! The singing, the cheer, the eggnog, the glitter! I love it all. But if you know me (and I hope you do by now, my PattiKnows loves), you know that I love the glitter most of all. There’s something about sparkle that just says holiday season to me, and I love that there are so many parties this time of year where you can wear a little glitter. If you have holiday parties coming up, I picked out some of my favorite holiday glammy dresses to make you sparkle and shine at your event.

1. Classic lace with a twist

How figure flattering is this little number? Answer — so, so figure flattering. And the great part about this dress is that it’s shimmer light. Both the color and the lace detailing of this dress make the glitter element less sparkles-in-your-face and more subtle shimmer. In fact, it’s so subtle that if you slip on a blazer, you could even wear it to the office. That’s right! From the boardroom to the dance floor.

2. LBD with some spunk

Move over little black dress. Here comes little black dress with a little extra oomph. And that’s what the holidays are about, right? It’s all about going that extra mile to make the normal feel extraordinary. With this dress, the shimmer-up top means that you don’t need to stress about super fancy jewelry. Just a pair of your everyday earrings could work. Instead, spend your extra dollars and energy on finding the perfect pair of shoes for this hot number. Because it’s holiday time, I say be bold and go red. But that’s really up to you.

3. LBD all grown up

If that spunky black dress option is a little too out there and daring for you, don’t worry about it. Here’s an option that will make you feel much more comfortable. It’s basically that last dress’ older sister. The length and coverage is conservative enough for even the most traditional settings, but it still has enough sparkle to make you feel special.

4. The undress

Now I know this technically isn’t a dress, but come on! It’s so fabulous I had to put it on this list. Who wouldn’t love to wear this? The pencil cut will hug your curves in all the right places, and that emerald green — is it not to die for? Pair it with any shirt, even a white button down, and you have a super styling look for a party.

5. Party dress

Here’s an option that’s a bit more playful. It has a lot of sparkle, but it’s still really easy to dress down. This would be a great dress to put on if you have a few holiday parties to get to in one night that run the gamut on dress code. Slip this on with some booties and red lips and you’re set.
