When someone cheats, it’s usually a sign that there’s a greater problem within a relationship, indicating there is some underlying dissatisfaction but no healthy outlet through which to convey it. But what if you’re one of the many people who isn’t exactly sure where on the spectrum of a relationship you fall? When a relationship isn’t define, we find ourselves in situations where we have to stop and ask, “Was that really cheating?” The way that dating has progressed has made it more and more difficult to really define what levels of commitment exist for each phase of a relationship, but defining these unknowns before someone gets hurt in the process is important. In order to do that, you’re going to have to have “the talk.”

The best story ever told was between someone’s fingertip and their beloved’s skin- a love story of some sort or the tale of two individuals coming together. The only thing more epic than the beginning of a love story is the ending- the final touch or the end of the caress. In today’s society, it seems as though the only thing being touched is the screen on a smart phone to start a text message, and sometimes, the ending of an affair isn’t even granted that courtesy.

I’m smack dab in the middle of Amy Poehler’s book, Yes Please. It’s such a wonderful read. She’s just as adorable and inspiring on the page as she is in interviews. Not like you’d expect anything less, but the book is funny and well written and you really get the sense that you’re just sitting down for a chat with Amy. I also feel like I’m learning a lot of life lessons. One of the things that I admire about Amy’s story is how she’s handling talking about her divorce with Will Arnett. Read more
