Grooming for Men: The Musts

man groomingWelcome to the Sex and the Summer Series! If you’re just reading, be sure to check out Part I where I shared honest, simple grooming tips for women this summer. Take a peek .

Now it’s time for the men.

As a matchmaker, I work with a lot of men. And it’s my goal to always be open to who they are and what they bring to the table – both emotionally and physically.

But there are some non-negotiables when it comes to a successful dating life, and grooming is at the top of the list.

So, men – listen up. Here’s what you need to know…

1. “Down There” Hair. If we expect women to keep their hair in check, then men should be doing the same. Keep your pubic hair neat and trim at all times. Nothing wild or unkempt. And while you’re at it – check your ears. Yes, your ears, nose, neck – you name it – wherever random hairs may be hiding. You don’t have to be hairless by any means, but you should be making grooming a priority.

2. Clean Feet. The number of handsome, intelligent, and amazing guys I know whose feet really need some serious TLC would surprise you. Guys, take a hard look. Are your toenails clean and trimmed? Deal with the dry skin, fungus, and ingrown toenails, once and for all. Feet can be a real turn-off, especially in summer when feet are on display. The same goes for your hands – clean, trimmed fingernails, always.

3. Wear Deodorant. Now I know this goes without saying for most guys, but if you are a “sweater” this is even extra important. If this is something you encounter, be sure to have a change of clothes before your date, so you feel and look fresh.

Without a doubt, grooming is one of the key steps in building confidence and presenting your best self, so be sure to take some extra time before your next date – and let me know how it goes!
