After a few spectacular days in Los Angeles for Matchmaking Institute's most recent matchmaker training, I am back in NYC reflecting on all the things I loved most about this special live event. Of course, I loved just being out on the West Coast, visiting some of the places I haven't been since decades ago when I lived there. It was also amazing to reconnect with my colleagues who are truly industry thought leaders and to meet the new, aspiring matchmakers who are passionate about making a difference in the field. We recently read an article written by a guy about how every guy has a “girl who got away”. As predicted, the article discussed how every guy has some girl in his past who has come and gone and for whatever reason he just cannot forget about her. For most guys, its assumed that she was his first great love. So these poor guys (or poor every guy?) are left to live the rest of their lives to still think of her on occasion, why things went wrong, what they could have done better, and the fact that she is gone forever.
