The trick to inheriting a position is to make it your own. Take the best of what came before and then put your own unique twist on it. You can’t go wrong.
Point out to a friend that you know s/he means well but accenting the positive would be a lot more effective than analyzing your faults.
People may have disappointed you, but don’t become gray and overcast. You’re a Child of the Sun and an optimist! You get further believing in the best.
Don’t buy the innocent act because that young friend or relative is working an angle and you need to find out what it is.
It’s no fun being the whistle-blower, but if you won’t – who will? Be sure that when you’re ready to blow, you blow hard.
Stop treating a colleague like they’re part of the problem when they’re part of the solution. Be open to their input and you’ll get somewhere.
