You finally get the green light after months of being stalled. Terrific! The only problem is you have two weeks to make up for that lost time.
Two wrongs can sometimes make a right. It looks as though you and the other party were both misled. Get together and compare notes.
You have no problem stepping in temporarily, but work out an exit strategy ahead of time. You don’t want to be saddled with a responsibility indefinitely.
Point out to the other party that your views aren’t necessarily in disagreement. It’s just that you refuse to have words put in your mouth.
Colleagues seek input. This is proof positive that you have something to say and you should feel more confident about your opinions.
You may be hitting a sore spot without knowing it. Instead of repeating what you just said, back off and let this person come to you.
