5 Mistakes you don’t know you’re making in your online dating profile

Single ladies, you need to amp up your online dating game if you’re gunning for Mr. Right. And don’t cry about how online dating isn’t for you. If you’re looking for love, then online dating is 100% for you. There’s no way to make more impact and meet more men than logging into online love. So, quit dragging your feet and get digital already! And if you’re already online, good for you! Here are five mistakes you probably didn’t realize you were making.

Not having a full-body picture

Men are visual creatures and they care about your body. Them’s the facts! So, show them the goods! If you don’t put up a full body shot, men just aren’t going to engage. They need to know what they’re signing up for. And believe me, whatever you’re self-conscious about with your body isn’t a big deal. You’re not putting a head-to-toe shot out there to get judged, you’re putting it out there to get appreciated!

Not making the first move

In the real world, I’m obviously all about men making the first move. But, online dating is a different space. You can certainly send the first message to a man. Of course I don’t think you should be the one to do the asking when it comes to setting up the date. But, being the one to open up the door for conversation isn’t going to hurt you. It’s going to help you.

Listing solo hobbies

Oh, you’re into knitting, reading and watching House of Cards on your couch? You sound like a great activity partner…NOT! We all like our alone time and that’s fine. But, online dating is not the place to focus on that. Instead, focus on what you do in your life that you’d like to share with a partner. Hiking, cooking, traveling, etc. Market yourself and your life in a way that makes you seem like a fun person to partner up with!

Not updating it

When was the last time you uploaded new pictures to your profile or changed your headline? Let me guess…you haven’t touched your profile since you signed up for the service two years ago. As soon as you feel like you’re not attracting the right guys, switch it up. A new picture and some new keywords can completely change the type of guys who are messaging you or swiping into your life. You need to experiment a bit.

Using snapshots

Get professional pictures taken! You need to stop using old pictures where you crop out sorority sisters and ex-boyfriends. Nothing is going to make you look better than a professional picture. So, take the time and the money and get some taken. You’re investing in love and that’s never a bad investment.

Pump the brakes on these bad habits and you’ll see your online dating life uptick in a major way. Good luck out there!
