I just got home from a week-long vacation with my mom, sister and my precious little nephew, Luca. So much has been happening in all of our lives that it had been a couple years since we took some time away together. It was pure bliss. It was Luca's (he's 4 months old now) first vacation out of the country and he was so cute in all of his sun protection gear! We swam, read books (I finally finished the third Fifty Shades of Grey
book!), played dominoes, drank margaritas, laughed with each other and ate amazing, authentic Mexican food. Other than the three paparazzi boats that were permanently docked outside of our room, we couldn't have dreamed up a better getaway.
I met Jessica in third grade. She stood by me even after I projectile vomited on the audience during our fourth grade choir concert. So I stood by her even when she disclosed she had chosen Infinity Dresses for her bridesmaids. When we arrived at the three-chair salon in rural Puyallup, Washington, I quickly Googled pictures of my desired hairstyle, knowing that my vision left to interpretation by this stylist would be reminiscent of homecoming 2004. We all took turns getting our hair done, sipped mimosas and put together wedding programs. As anticipated, the hair stylist/anti-Christ French-braided my bangs and secured my tightly wound curls with hairspray that has most likely caused permanent damage to my respiratory system.

Summer is here at last… and boy is it a hot one! We live out in the fabulous LA Valley so it’s even more sweltering. It’s amazing how it can go from 85 degrees F in central LA to 100 degrees in the Valley! The question is what to do when summer is at its full glory? We have learned how to have fun in the sun in the most creative of ways -- especially when you have a toddler! Let’s talk about your home. We all know that when the pavement is melting, the last place you want to be is outdoors. How about turning your pad into a cool beach oasis?
I get a lot of people who write in to my blog and ask me for easy breakfast ideas. I love that so many of my readers are busy moms or on-the-go career chicks. So, in honor of all the hard working ladies who can't stand to skip breakfast, here is a breakfast recipe just for you.
It's a perfect portion, doesn't require a knife, fork or even a plate and it will keep you full well in to your lunch hour. The pecorino adds a mild saltiness and I love that the cherry tomatoes add a hint of sweetness every few bites.
