Daily horoscopes: January 16, 2017

ARIES.

(March 20 – April 19):

You feel bad about the way a friend was dumped.  Encourage her to vent, but don’t let her wallow.  She needs to move on.

TAURUS.

(April 20 – May 20):

Push ahead or fall back?  How about taking an impromptu break?  Time away from a project lets you see how you’re progressing.

GEMINI.

(May 21 – June 20):

Were you better off not knowing?  A legitimate question after sitting through an “off-the-record” conversation.  Take a few days to think about what to do.

CANCER.

(June 21 – July 21):

Avoiding a confrontation may be worse than just having it out.  State what you have to say as matter-of-factly as possible and it’s done.

LEO.

(July 22 – Aug. 22):

Taking care of old business proves to be a godsend when you discover something invaluable while reviewing files today.

VIRGO.

(Aug. 23 – Sept. 22):

A clever maneuver backfires, but hang tight.  Given the wild and crazy energy of the Stars nowadays it could wind up working out for the best.

LIBRA.

(Sept. 23 – Oct. 22):

Only you can decide if you want to continue shouldering a responsibility.  Yes, people are relying on you, but you also have to look after yourself.

SCORPIO.

(Oct. 23 – Nov. 21):

You’re in a position to pay off what you owe – and should.  Funds may be tight for a while, but you’ll be back in the black.

SAGITTARIUS.

(Nov. 22 – Dec. 20):

Does a rival know that you’re up against the wall?  Probably not.  Continue with business as usual and s/he will never catch on.

CAPRICORN.

(Dec. 21 – Jan. 19):

Give people time to absorb what you’re saying.  It’s not what they expected, but they’ll appreciate the pragmatism of what you propose.

AQUARIUS.

(Jan. 20 – Feb. 17):

Everyone has an idea of how you can improve.  Unfortunately they’re all talking simultaneously.  Tell well-meaning friends you can only take in one comment at a time.

PISCES.

(Feb. 18 – March 19):

This is not the time to try to explain why a fiasco took place.  Colleagues are looking for a scapegoat and you don’t want to give them any ideas.
